Activity Overview
Rheum2Learn 2.0 is case-based, fundamental clinical rheumatology education for residents. Each interactive activity includes three patient cases that focus on the care and assessment of individuals with rheumatologic diseases.
Learn about vasculitis, including its presentation, how to diagnosis, and management strategies for giant cell vasculitis and small vessel vasculitis. Three patient cases will provide information on giant cell arteritis (GCA), leukocytoclastic vasculitis, and complications such as pulmonary-renal syndrome (PRS).

Target Audience
Residents in training who may provide care for patients with rheumatic diagnoses in primary care, inpatient, critical care, and other clinical contexts.
The activity may also be of interest to medical students, fellows in training, advanced practice providers, practicing physicians, and other health care professionals who seek to strengthen their clinical knowledge of rheumatic diseases.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Identify the clinical manifestations concerning for cranial giant cell arteritis (GCA)
Understand the potential complications associated with delay in diagnosis
Develop a first line management plan
Distinguish different etiologies of lower extremity rash in order to identify palpable purpura
Outline the differential diagnosis for underlying etiologies of leukocytoclastic vasculitis
Determine when systemic treatment is warranted for leukocytoclastic vasculitis limited to cutaneous involvement
Recognize that pulmonary-renal syndrome (PRS) is a medical emergency
Describe the most common etiologies of pulmonary-renal syndrome (PRS)
Understand aggressive therapy should be instituted in a timely fashion
