Activity Information

This activity allows primary care providers to increase their competence on the signs, symptoms, therapies, and management of rheumatoid arthritis, leading to increased early diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis.


Target Audience

Primary care physicians, including internal medicine and family medicine practitioners, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.


Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:

  • Generate awareness and knowledge of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in medically underserved areas
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of RA
  • Recognize how to initiate care and to make an appropriate referral

MOC Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.00 MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
